Armor Chip Garage Epoxy Floor Kits - Medium Flake Coverage
I purchased your Armor Chip epoxy kits; Looks great I would recommend it to anyone. I rolled the paint to the edge of the garage door opening. I taped the edge applied both epoxy and top coat. I remove the tape so both paints were even at the edge. The paint has been on the floor for one year and at the entrance of the garage door the top coat is starting to bubble up and working its way further into the garage floor. If I was to lightly remove the loose areas of the top coat can I put a coat of the finish or top clear coat over the loose area? Not the whole floor. My idea would be to go to the point that is moving from the garage door opening to the back of the garage let say two feet and place a tape line from the left side of the garage to the right side remove all lose areas of the Urethane and clean . Would the top coat of I think it is Urethane hold to the old Urethane? If so my thought would to extend the urethane a little past the first tape line on to the concrete to hopefully seal the edge of the fist paint line. Your advice would be a appreciated. I have been a professional painter for forty 45 years. I have painted epoxy paint to floors many times but not with a top coat. thanks Richard

You have the right idea, sand the loose topcoat off till you get to the point of where the topcoat is solidly bonded to the epoxy and then lightly sand about another 12" of the good topcoat so that when you overlap the new topcoat onto the old topcoat it has a profile to stick to.
