Plan a long weekend for the coating itself: prep day one (grind or etch, repairs), then primer, epoxy build coat, and urethane topcoat each need to dry before the next layer goes down — typically one layer per session with overnight or same-day-plus dries depending on temperature. Diamond grinding instead of acid etching saves the slab-drying wait, and the fast-dry primer plus diamond grinding compresses three days into one, you can grind, prime and epoxy in one day. After the topcoat: foot traffic next day, vehicles about 48 hours. Total elapsed: 3–4 days for most floors, of which actual working hours are a fraction.
