You'd be cutting the layer that does the heavy lifting. The military-grade urethane topcoat is where the 4mg abrasion rating lives — the epoxy build coat provides thickness and impact strength, but the topcoat is what resists the wear of every wheel, foot, and forklift pivot that crosses the floor. Skipping it turns a 10–15 year floor into a wear-through-in-a-few-years floor. If budget is the constraint, the better lever is our Commercial system, which is engineered as a two-layer package.
