If the floor is lightly pitted, the epoxy is very thick and can cover light pitting; however, this will take much more material. For heavier pitted floors, repair first, then protect. The Novolac Epoxy Mortar trowels into the acid-eaten pits, holes, and eroded areas and cures hammerproof — then the Acid Shield system goes over the whole floor, repairs included, as one seamless protected surface. Grind or shotblast first so you're repairing and coating sound concrete, not contaminated material.
