Duty level. The Steel Pipe & Metal Equipment mastic (20 mils per coat) is the workhorse for above-ground pipe, ductwork, equipment, and structural steel in normal industrial exposure. This nano-particle formula is for the environments that eat that class of coating alive — burial in soil, tank linings, rotating vessels with abrasive contents, and constant aggressive chemical contact. If it's above ground and the exposure is weather and incidental chemicals, use the standard mastic and save money; if it's buried, immersed, or under chemical/abrasion assault, this is the one.
