Let the coating reach full cure before burial — 8–12 hours per coat depending on temperature and humidity, so a two-coat job finished in the afternoon is typically safe to backfill the next day. When backfilling with rocky material, the coating's impact and abrasion resistance is exactly what protects the pipe, but curing fully first is what lets it do that job.
