Question: Is the epoxy slippery?
Answer: Yes, all epoxy floor coatings are slippery when wet. All ArmorGarage kits except the Metallic epoxy kit come with an anti-slip additive to provide traction. Please note that if you live in a cold climate and your floor is subject to freezing temperatures, take care to prevent ice from forming on the floor. The non-slip additive is effective for water on the floor not ice.
Question: How long between coats do I have to wait?
Answer: The recoat time varies for each layer and temperature. For the primer, it's about 5-7 hours, for the epoxy, you need to let it dry overnight, and for the topcoat, it's 5-8 hours. Never let more than 20 hours pass between each coat because after that, the pores start to close and the next layer will not adhere fully. To test if a layer is ready for the next coat, press your thumb into it. If it doesn't leave a print, you're good to go; if it does, you need to give it more time.
