How long does your product last after it has been opened.

I think I may need more than 4 gallons but don't want to buy another 4 gallons and use only 1 gallon out of it and have it to waste it.

If you use only 1 gallon out of the 4-gallon pail transfer the remaining 3 gallons into three 1-gallon cans, this is the best method to preserve the coating. The objective is to minimize contact with air as much as possible. If you fill the cans properly it will stay for 2 years.
