The structure—number of layers and system build—affects protection, longevity, and ease of maintenance. Multi-layer systems provide different products for each layer that provide different functions. A primer provides additional coverage for the epoxy layer and enhances adhesion to the slab by soaking in deeper. The epoxy layer adds bulk and strength while the topcoat provides the UV and abrasion resistance. This is a far superior way to epoxy coat a floor versus a single coat application.
