"The better question is what happens after one year! A cheap epoxy can look 20 years old after one — hot tire peeling, wear paths through the color, yellowing. What determines the difference is the abrasion rating and the topcoat: our floors are finished with a military-grade urethane topcoat with a 4mg abrasion loss rating, versus 20–35mg for typical products, so the wear layer simply doesn't grind away. After five years a quality floor should show no wear at all — we have customer floors still looking new after 10–16 years (there's a 10-year-old one pictured on this page). The product you choose is the whole ballgame.
