The best garage floor coating is typically epoxy, as it is highly durable, resistant to chemicals and stains, and creates a strong, attractive finish. We've made and installed every type of epoxy there is and we have found that 100% aliphatic epoxy made with military grade components is the best epoxy you can use in the vast majority of applications. Polyaspartics and Polyurea coatings are also popular for their fast curing time and superior UV resistance, but they can be more expensive and more difficult to apply. Ultimately, the choice depends on your budget, desired appearance, and how much wear and tear your garage floor will experience. Use the following cautions when purchasing epoxy flooring for your garage. Not all 100% solids epoxies are equal; there are fake 100% solids, there are low quality 100% solids epoxies, there are high solids epoxies, which should only be used as primers, and then worst of all are the water-based epoxies, which are super thin and prone to premature failures. The saying "You get what you pay for" was never truer when it comes to epoxy floor coating kits.
