The best garage floor coating for the vast majority of garages is a quality multi-layer epoxy system — nothing else matches the combination of durability, chemical and stain resistance, and finish. We've manufactured and installed every coating type there is, and the best of the best is 100% solids epoxy made with military-grade aliphatic components — 'aliphatic' being the chemistry that resists the yellowing and UV breakdown that plague standard epoxies. Polyaspartics and polyureas are popular for fast cure times and UV resistance, but they cost more, are less forgiving to apply, and don't out-wear a proper multi-layer epoxy system despite the marketing claims. One warning before you buy anything: not all '100% solids' epoxies are equal. There are fakes that don't test at 100%, low-quality 100% solids resins, 'high solids' products (fine as primers, wrong as your floor coat), and — worst of all — water-based epoxies, which go on paper-thin and fail early. 'You get what you pay for' was never truer than with epoxy floor kits.
