No interlocking tiles are waterproof. Our Super Heavy Duty Tiles have hidden seams that are very tight fitting and water will not run right through them but they're not water proof. The only way to get them waterproof is to silicone the seams which could be a maintenance issue. We not crazy about customers doing that, we like long term solutions. The other option is to apply our Waterproof Liquid Membrane on the floor and then install the tiles over that. Then whatever water leaks through the tiles will not get soaked into the slab and will evaporate back out through the tiles.
There's really no prep involved in installing them, just sweep the floor clean. You can install them in a few hours.
