It's always a good idea to fill them in. Sometimes they can run deeper than they look, which would cause the coating to sag. Don't use any silicone base patch and don't use any premixed patch that comes in a tub. Use a good 2-part epoxy-based concrete patch so that it doesn't chip or crack out in the future.
