You can fill cracks up to 3 inches wide and 1 inch deep using this mortar. For deeper cracks, use backer rod or compacted sand to reduce the depth of the crack. This makes it very useful for repairing wide, substantial cracks that would otherwise require more extensive preparation or multiple products.
