For optimal adhesion to VCT tile, it should be lightly sanded with a floor buffer and 100-grit sandpaper before application. This helps the coating bond better to the surface, resulting in a longer-lasting finish. Do not sand VCT tiles containing asbestos! Hard surface tiles should be cleaned and stripped of any wax or sealers.
