Primers prep the floor for better strength and adhesion by soaking into the slab further than the epoxy does; they seal porous surfaces and help ensure that the epoxy base coat adheres properly. Although all ArmorGarage epoxies are self-priming it's never a bad idea to prime first for added adhesion and longevity, especially on floors that are less than perfect.
